» About L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen
OUR HISTORY - Judge Billy Neville founded L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen and charged that no person who entered our door for a meal would be refused based on his or her circumstances. He felt that even people who had jobs could have financial difficulties, such as medical expenses, which would limit their ability to purchase food between pay periods. It is on this premise that we built this service to feed the hungry. L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen has been in operation since the 1980s and is supported by businesses, churches and individuals in our community.
OUR MISSION - Lauderdale Outreach and Volunteer Effort, Inc., known as L.O.V.E.’s Kitchen, is a nonprofit, charitable organization formed for the express purpose of feeding the hungry in Meridian and Lauderdale County, Mississippi.
» What Donors Need to Know
Stop by one day and witness our filled dining room. Our meal count of 4,000 meals each month tells our story in a simple way. We are needed. Financial donations are used to pay for daily operational costs, which include utilities and insurance. Your tax deductible donations give the support needed to provide balanced wholesome meals and a safe welcoming environment to our clients.
» Volunteer Opportunities
Not a great cook? Do you have LOVE in your heart? That’s all you need! We have opportunities for you to share your love by serving in our kitchen. Help us by encouraging this safe haven as you check in donations, prepare meals, stock shelves, and help keep the inside and outside of our facility clean and safe. Come alone, or get a group of about five or six. Then, schedule your day to be a part of a wonderful team.
